About the program

CAD/CAM technicians decide how a product is to be manufactured, what types of machines are to be used, and the machining sequence required to manufacture components to industrial standards.

This Mechanical Technician – CAD-CAM program from St. Clair College, prepares graduates to become Computer Aided Designers (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) specialists, Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) programmers, General Machinist/CNC, quality control persons or CMM operators in the mould making, tool and die, jig and fixture, and machine tool construction industries.

Although CAM is the main focus of this program, a robust series of CAD courses are included to maximize the success of the student which offers them a competitive edge for employment.
